Chitown Baseball Week!! (5/06)

Wednesday, 5/10 ::: Let baseball week begin! I finally had some free time to venture downtown to catch games at both US Cellular and Wrigley Fields. The first outing was to catch White Sox knuckleballer, Charlie Haeger, in his big league debut versus the LA Angels. Unfortunately he only lasted only 4 1/3 innings and struggled with his control, but the first place Sox kept it relatively interesting until the 9th when the Angles exploded for six runs (the final score was 12-5). All in all it was a great night despite the Sox loss - my buddy Andrew and I enjoyed good weather and baseball for much of the game and had RIDICULOUS first row seats care of an old buddy of mine who works for the team. Doesn't get much better than this... next up... Wrigley bleachers!

Tuesday, 5/16 ::: Nothing like skipping class and cruising to a baseball game and the Wrigleyville bars with a few hundred of your closest friends. In typical fashion, b-school kids travel in a pack and this was definitely no exception! The good news is the Cubbies finally came through with a win as Carlos Zambrano blanked the Nationals in my Wrigley Field debut.
The sun was shining, the beers and brats were flowing and plenty of good times to be had. I must admit, the bleachers are a blast and Wrigley's intimate setting (it only holds about 40,000) really makes for a fun night out at the ballpark. Despite my complete disinterest in baseball this season, the game really made me hungry for more... can't wait to get back to NYC for some real Bronx baseball. Let's go Yankees!

Cinco De Mayo ::: Mylo & Elliot Eastwick @ SmartBar (5/5/06)

Two lovely ladies (well, three if you count Nora) + Mylo + margaritas = serious throwdown. We started the night at Steve's new apt downtown, enjoying the Cinco festivities (read: guac + margs) and then we took SmartBar's dancefloor by storm. The Chicago heads were feeeeeeeeelin it and Mylo gave the love right back by throwing down some seriously fun music until the lights came on. So nice to have a little bit of NYC on midwest turf - thanks again ladies! Let's do it again, SOON!! Muah!
