Rocky Horror Picture Show & Asbury Park (8/31/07)

Believe it or not, I had never seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show, nor did I have any clue what it was about. So at Joel's urging, a crew of 11 of us ventured out to the Chelsea Clearview Theater for the midnight showing of the cult classic. Let's just say it started out with a 30 minute dance party (of which we were the stars), followed with a live orgasm contest (won by one of us) and finished with two hours of zany interactive antics by the whole crowd. I can't believe I waited this long to go see it - I highly recommend it and for those who don't know what its about, I'd like to share an overview and the trailer (below). The basic premise: a young engaged couple gets lost one dark and gloomy night and wind up at the castle of a sweet transvestite who is about to reveal his newest creation (a hot go-go boy). After that there is sex, murder, dancing and debauchery. You don't need to know much more than that... just go!

Rocky Horror Picture Show Movie Trailer:

Despite being out a bit late for Rocky Horror, Karen, Eileen and I managed an early wake-up call for the beach. We had been promised 82 degree weather all weekend and we didn't want to miss a minute of fun in the sun. The rest of the crew came throughout the day and by 5pm everyone was in place for a wonderful "cheers" on the beach organized by our lovely and gracious hosts, Jilly, Justin & Grace. That night 20 of us gathered around the dinner table for a home cooked meal (Yim & Martin - you rock!) and a great celebration of so many wonderful things, not least of which was the news that Gracie is going to be an older sister...yay!!! The night was capped off with a cut-throat game of Celebrities... apparently some people are still quite competitive in their old age (-;
