Bachelorette & Baby Bonzana! (5/19/07)

One of my good friends from school, Beth, is getting married next month so some pre-marital girlie shenanigans were scheduled for this weekend. We started the night off at a friend's apartment in Marina City, the complex above the House of Blues that consists of two distinct 60-story towers. If you've ever been on the Architecture Boat Tour, you've heard all about them - they were built in 1964 and are affectionately known as the corn cobs due to their unique shape. After taking in the lovely view of the Chicago River and Beth's new *sexy little things*... we set off for dinner at Quartino, an Italian spot in River North.

After dinner we hopped a cab to Hogs & Honeys, otherwise known as a bachelorette heaven (and a rip-off of Hogs & Heifers in NYC!). The place was filled with penis props, drunken ladies and sketchy male onlookers. However, the main attraction was definitely the mechanical bull which was carefully maneuvered so that each participant's lady lumps would shake *just so*... classy...haha! Beth got up there (see video) and hung on for all of 40 seconds, which was a pretty good effort! She also danced on the bar like a wild woman and shook her pale white arse just enough to keep a hula hoop going for a few minutes. Despite all the boozing and body shaking, the *puker* never made an appearance...thank god! I was lucky enough to have NYC friend, Eileen, in the house for support (also there for a bachelorette party...surprise surprise!) and made a few new friends who lifted me up and tossed me around the bar for a few minutes of good old fashioned fun! And finally... our crew of friends finished off the weekend with another happy gathering, this time in honor of mom-to-be, Bergen, who is expecting a baby girl in a few months.
