Yankees - White Sox and Desyn Masiello @ Spy Bar (5/17/06)

The Yankees have been struggling this season so when they came into town, I was hoping my presence at US Cellular would be enough to get them back on track - apparently not. Rookie right- hander, Matt De Salvo got roughed up early and all the Yanks could manage to do after that was hit into one double play after another. They wound up losing 4-1. The good news is that me, Adam, Melissa and Dave still managed to soak up some sun and margaritas and enjoy the day. Even with a Yankee loss, being at a day baseball game is better than school or work! Suckers!

After the game, we took the El back to Evanston so I could catch the first half of my three-hour night class and then take a quick nap before heading back out for the night to celebrate Ram's graduation from law school. He had been looking forward to catching Desyn Masiello (his first time) and so was I as Desyn had dropped an awesome late night set with the rest of the SOS boys in Costa Rica when I was there. We had a nice crew - some b-school and law school party peeps as well as our friend Ryan who was in town from NYC. Dino G and Mike Khoury opened things up and got the room moving nicely before they handed it off to Desyn. Desyn played a great mix of funky and progressive stuff and dropped in a few really fun 80s remixes for good measure. Our group was really up for it and just about everyone stayed until the end. A damn lot of people were in the house for a Thursday at 4am! Some of us ventured off for a night cap and others of us even decided to roll straight to 8:30am classes on Friday morning. The fun didn't stop there either... as KJ and I decided to play host to an impromptu rooftop party all day... nothing better than bikinis and beers on a Friday afternoon!!
